Getting started with our ROOT!T Hobby propagation heating mats is a breeze. Unpack it from the box, plug it in, and you’re ready to roll. Whether it’s under a pot, seedling tray, or propagation kit in greenhouses or at home, watch your plants germinate and flourish in record time.

Simply place it beneath your seed tray or propagator and plug it in! You should monitor the temperature in the seed tray / propagator to ensure that it doesn’t overheat. When the temperature reaches 22°C, you may need to switch off the heat mat to avoid overheating.

We recommend that you add a ROOT!T Insulating Mat and a ROOT!T Heat Mat Thermosat. If you place the insulating mat beneath the heat mat, no heat will be lost to the bench or staging, and it will all be directed upward towards the plants. A heat mat thermostat will allow you to set a target temperature, and the thermostat will monitor the temperature within the propagator and switch the heat mat on and off automatically as necessary to maintain the desired temperature. This will save you time, effort, and electricity.
